- Arrive Christchurch, pick up your rental car and transfer to your accommodation at The George Hotel
- The hotel is opposite Hagley Park and the perfect place for exploring Christchurch on foot
- Hire kayaks from the Antigua Boat Shed and paddle the Avon River through The Botanical gardens
- Visit the Arts centre, Art Gallery, central city and river side cafes

- Take a trip to Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula for a Harbour Cruise and Dolphin Swim

| Day 3 - Christchurch - Mount Cook - Queenstown |

- Drive to Queenstown today, via the Southern lakes and Mt Cook
- Take a scenic flight around Mt Cook and the Glaciers with Air Safaris
- Stay at Millbrook Resort on the outskirts of Queenstown - facilities include heated swimming pool, spas, tennis and golf surrounded by mountains and great scenery
- Total Driving Time today: allow 6 hours

| Day 4 - Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown |

- Take a trip into Milford Sound by air - you can go by plane or helicopter - cruise on the Sound and return to Queenstown airport by lunchtime
- Plenty to keep you busy in Queenstown this afternoon- try the Luge Ride and Gondola, or a trip across the lake to a high country station on the Earnslaw
- Explore Arrowtown and drive down the Kawarau Gorge to watch the jumpers at AJ Hackett Bungy

Join Dart River Safaris for a jetboat ride and Funyak kayak trip down the Dart River
- Drive to Wanaka, take a walk around the lake edge, try your hand at fishing and visit the Landsborough Puzzle World
- Return to Millbrook via the Crown Range Road and have a meal at the historic Cardrona Hotel. This return trip is just over 2 hours driving

| Day 6 - Queenstown - Rotorua |

- Fly from Queenstown to Rotorua this morning with Air New Zealand arriving early afternoon. Pick up your rental car at Rotorua Airport
- Your accommodation for the next 2 nights is at Koura Lodge on the edge of the lake and a few minutes from the town centre
- Visit the Whakarewarewa Thermal Village and the Agrodome Adventure Centre where you can handfeed farm animals in a real farm environment including sheep, cows, deer, emus, alpaca, llamas, pigs and ostrich (optional)

| Day 7 - Rotorua |

Volcanic Air Safaris can take you for a flight over the volcanic valleys of the Rotorua lakes area and to White island Volcano. You can choose to make this trip by helicopter and include a guided tour of the active volcano - an amazing lesson in geography for all the family
- Returning to Koura Lodge, you can join a fishing charter trip for the afternoon on the lake, go kayaking or take a scenic jetboat trip around the lake, landing on Mokoia Island (optional)
- This evening you will be picked up at Koura Lodge and taken to Tamaki Village for an authentic Maori welcome, hangi dinner and cultural show

| Day 8 - Rotorua - Coromandel |

- Drive from Rotorua to the Coromandel Peninsula, staying at Puka Park Resort, a beach resort at Pauanui
- Drive via the beach at Mt Manganui and Papamoa Beach for great swimming and surf
- Other beaches to stop at are Waihi and Whangamata

| Day 9 - Coromandel - Auckland |

Drive to Hotwater beach this morning, just up the coast from Pauanui. Hotwater Springs rise to the surface here below the sand and at low tide, you can dig a spa pool in the sand. Around the corner at Hahei is great swimming and walking and you can join a sea kayaking trip with Cathedral Cove Kayaking
- The next good beach stop is Cooks Beach and then onto Whitianga
- Return over the hill through rainforest and bush lined roads to Thames and then onto Auckland via the Miranda Coast
- Stay in Auckland tonight at the City Life Hotel in downtown Auckland
- Driving time today: 3 hours

- If time allows before your departure, you may want to take a short ferry ride across the harbour to Devonport or do some shopping in Parnell or downtown Auckland city

Enjoy the splendour of this amazing geothermal area from the air - take a Volcanic Air Safaris flight to White Island this morning and walk in the crater of an active volcano. Fly over the Hells Gate Thermal Valley and along the pacific coastline on your way to White island.
- This afternoon consider a drive to Huka Falls and Lake Taupo via the Wairakei Thermal Reserve and take a jet boat ride with Huka Jet
- In the evening you'll be picked up from your accommodation at Koura Lodge and taken to a Maori Cultural performance and traditional hangi meal following a traditional welcoming ceremony onto a Marae at the Tamaki Maori Village

Fly to Queenstown this morning, collect your rental car at the airport and drive to Millbrook Resort where you stay for 2 nights
- This afternoon, take a ride on the Shotover Jet or up the Gondola and then take the luge ride down - great fun for all ages!
- Explore the town, lakefront and gardens and feed the tame fish and eels at the jetty
- Millbrook has excellent restaurants, heated swimming pool, spa and tennis

- Drive to Lake Manapouri this morning via Te Anau and board the Fiordland Navigator for an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound
- Wildlife is abundant and includes fur seals and dolphins - Doubtful Sound is both stunning and serene, an experience the family will always remember
